Yingkiong is headquarters of the Upper Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh.

Culture and History

Yingkiong at the administrative center of an area inhabited by the Adi and the Memba people. It is a small town, and although lacking in any memorable attractions, it is often used as jumping off point for travelers heading into the almost mythical land of Pemako, which straddles the Tibetan-Arunachal borders.
