Good restaurants and cheap meals

One of the very famous treats in Viña del Mar is a sort of cookie called "alfajores". They can be purchased in several small pastry shops around the downtown area. Alfajores can be found filled with caramel, fruit, or other yummy fillings, which are then covered in chocolate. They are a true tradition and a must for any visitor. Boxes with large quantities make great souvenirs, if they make it home.
