A cheap and interesting tour:

Start: Berlin (Germany), the former border between capitalism and communism

  • hitchhiking to Poland, it's definately worth visiting Wroclaw and Krakow, it is roughly 60km from "Auschwitz" (concentration camp)
  • by train through Ukraine to Chernowitz
  • take a bus to Moldova, the poorest country in Europe you can visit "Transnistria"
  • from Chisinau by train to Bucharest
  • hitchhike through Romania and Bulgaria, visit the black-sea
  • by train or bus to Istanbul (Turkey), Europe meets Asia
  • Thesaloniki (Greece) from there take the train to Beograd (Serbia) or Zagreb (Croatia)
  • hitchhike from Zagreb to Ljubljana (Slovenia), quite possibly the most beautiful capital in Europe
