Tuba City is in Northern Arizona.

Culture and History

Tuba City is the largest settlement on the Arizona side of the Navajo Nation. There is little to detain the traveler, but it makes a good refueling stop on the way from Monument Valley to the Grand Canyon.

Tuba City is on U.S. Route 160, about 100 miles north of Flagstaff.

  • Explore Navajo Interactive Museum, [1]. Scheduled to open in 2007.
  • See some of the most well preserved dinosaur tracks going West on your way out of Tuba City.

Tuba City souvenirs and shopping

  • Tuba Trading Post. Far and away the biggest shop in Tuba, this shop dates back to 1905 and has a wide, well-presented selection of souvenirs from the area, including authentic Indian crafts. Tucked away in the back is a small grocery store for the locals.

Tuba City Restaurants: cheap, moderate and expensive

  • Hogan Restaurant, at the Quality Inn.
  • Kate's Cafe. Sandwiches, soups, burgers, salads and similar all-American fare (no Navajo food here). It's not much to get to excited about, but it's cheap and portions are big. $5-10.

Tuba City nightlife, bars, clubs and pubs

As Tuba is located within the reservation, it's a dry town, with no alcohol available.
