Nakano is a stop on the JR Chuo and Sobu lines. It is also a terminal stop for trains on the Tozai Subway Line (stop T01).

- Broadway Arcade is renowned throughout Tokyo and beyond for its jam-packed stores catering to the "otaku" culture of comics, anime, collectible toys, and the like. If you're looking for two-meter-high Godzilla figure, this is where you'll find it. There are also some used and specialty audio and video equipment stores. To get there, enter the covered arcade on the north side of JR Nakano station, and continue for about five minutes; Broadway is on the second floor.
Tokyo - Nakano Restaurants: cheap, moderate and expensive
- Rera-Chise (レラ・チセ) Arai 1-37-12, Nakano-ku (12 min. from JR Nakano, continuing past Broadway), 03-3387-2252. A Japanese rarity even in Tokyo, this restaurant serves cuisine of the Ainu, the indigenous inhabitants of Hokkaido. Try the crushed salmon snouts and venison steaks. Dinner only, closed Mondays.
