Sunshine Coast (British Columbia)
The Sunshine Coast is part of the British Columbia mainland that is separated from Vancouver by Howe Sound. There are no roads connecting the Sunshine Coast with the rest of the lower mainland. You have to take a ferry to get there.
Powell River is included in the Sunshine Coast, but most locals tend to think of the Sunshine Coast as being only the Sechelt Peninsula.
The southern portion of the sunshine coast is almost a bedroom community of Vancouver. There are a number of people who commute to Vancouver on a regular basis, in this area.
