Travel to Shah Alam - Visa Requirements
Shah Alam is about 20 kilometers west of Kuala Lumpur and a part of the urban sprawl of Klang Valley. The KTM Komuter line from Kuala Lumpur to Klang stops in Shah Alam, but the station is not particularly conveniently located. RapidKL provides bus service route number 63 and 338 from Kuala Lumpur to central region of Shah Alam city. There are other bus routes to various areas in Shah Alam. Check out www.rapidkl.com.my

Shah Alam tourist attractions and sightseeing
- Shah Alam lake gardens. Built around an artifical lake.
- Agricultural Park (Taman Pertanian). Spend a few enjoyable hours at the Agricultural Park. There is a mini zoo within the park. You can also rent bicycles and even horses (for riding lessons). The park also has a "four seasons" building in which the seasons are simulated (one season at a time).
- Selangor State Assembly Building. This building looks somewhat like a towering spaceship. The Tugu Negri (State Monument) is located nearby.
- Sultan of Selangor's palace. This building is located on a hill with a wonderful view of Shah Alam.
Shah Alam city tours
- 'Shah Alam Muzeum'. Take a peak at past history and also nice miniatures of old colonial buildings, this muzeum is the biggest in the state.
- Shah Alam Mamak Stalls. Hang arround with your buddies while slurping nice milk tea shakes with cheeze tosai at various section 7 mamak dine in restaurants.
Shah Alam souvenirs and shopping
Eat 'Ikan Bakar' (grilled fish)in medan selera at Section 2, in front of Shah Alam waterpark. Very delicious and very cheap. Come early or you will not get any. Try also various Mamak's restaurants around Section 7. They are generally clean, with a variety of food to choose from and very comfortable. Watch televised football matches here.
Shah Alam nightlife, bars, clubs and pubs
- Try BBQ grill at Grand Bluewave Hotel on Friday, Sat and Sunday or have delicious Hi Tea with very reasonable price.
- Try the famous Malaysian tea known as teh tarik at Mamak stall in Bukit Jelutong MMZ stall
