Culture and History

The region was the entrance door to hundreds of thousand os immigrants on late 19th and early 20th centuries. Brás became a industrial area while Mooca mixed industries and workers villages, where mostly italians lived. Nowadays the proximity to downtown São Paulo has made Mooca and emerging neighboorhood, as Brás stands as a popular commercial center.
