City tours

If you would like to see some sort of entertainment in Buenos Aires, skip any combination tango-dinner shows in San Telmo on Saturday nights. They are tourist traps. The dancers are not experienced, and you will only pay $30 pesos for "tourist tango."

Instead ask your waiter at lunch, or buy a newspaper and find a recommended show not located in San Telmo.

Shopping, San Telmo souvenirs

The main Plaza Dorrego fills up on Sundays with tonnes of craft and antique booths, supplementing the numerous antique shops, collectives, and malls in the area. You can get stamps, judaica, tins, clothing, office equipment, chandeliers, furniture, paintings, etc.

Good restaurants and cheap meals

The Gibraltar has thai green chicken curry and a beef jalfrezi curry in addition to beers and a smoky pool table in the back. Further back is an outdoor seating area. This can be good, as it can be hard to find spicy food in BsAs. It is located on Calle Perú 895 near Estados Unidos, 011-54-11/4362-5310

Desnivel is a great choice for quality ¨parrilla¨ for an excellent price. It is located in Defensa between Estados Unidos and Av. Independencia. You can also have food on-the-go such as choripan and sandwich de lomito starting at 2$.
