Ramechhap District is in Nepal.

Landscape

Ramechhap district lies immediately east of Kathmandu, stretching from the Sun Koshi to the base of the Everest range. With elevations varying from 488 at the Sun Koshi River to Numburchuili peak at 6909 m. Spread before you are rolling foothills dotted with isolated farming communities, crowned by an array of snow peaks that will leave you breathless. Rhododendron forests give way to bamboo groves which in turn vanish into the tantalizingly close himalayan peaks, and the dominant religion changes from Hindu to Buddhist.

Tours and Getting around Ramechhap

Ramechhap tourist attractions and sightseeing

Ramechhap city tours

  • Trekking in Ramechhap takes you beyond mainstream tourism and allows you to escape the congestion of commercialized trekking routes and get ‘off-the-beaten track’ to experience the REAL Nepal. Ramechhap offers an experience not found elsewhere in Nepal. You'll meet real people from different Indigenous Communities and learn far more about them and their culture than on conventional tours.
  • Activities that are performed for guests, could, in some cases, disappear from these communities which are increasingly influenced by the factors of modernization, urban sprawl and international development. In addition, trekking in Ramechhap increasingly responds to the growing interest among urban Nepali to rediscover, taste, appreciate and maintain contact with their rural roots. It fosters integration while respecting and celebrating local culture.
