Palawan is an island province of the Philippines. The provincial capital is Puerto Princesa and it is the largest province in terms of land area.
It is one of the few places left in the archipelago that have not been `logged-out'.
The most common local language is Cebuano, but many speak English and a group of ex-patriate Swiss operate a shortwave radio network using swiss-German.

Culture and History
The island of Palawan stretches from Mindoro to Borneo in the southwest. It lies between the South China Sea in the northwest and Sulu Sea in the southeast.
Palawan is considered to be the Philippines' last ecological frontier. The province boasts of many splendid beaches and resorts and it is where the Tubbataha Reef National Marine Park, one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites, is located.

From Manila, you can reach Palawan by ferry and by plane.
Philippine Airlines has regular flights to the capital, Puerto Princesa. Seair flies to Busuanga, Coron, and El Nido three times a week. Island Trans-Voyager Inc flies to El Nido twice daily.

- TABON CAVES Located in Quezon, Palawan. The Caves were the discovery site of the skull cap remains of the Tabon Man estmated to be 22,000 years old. Explore its 138 hectares of rugged cliffs and deep slopes and breathtaking sea view.

Palawan nightlife, bars, clubs and pubs
- Kinabuchs bar and grill, Rizal Ave. Open air bar very popular with locals and tourists alike but tends to get crowded on weekends. Grilled chicken is cheap and excellent.
- TomToms, just off Manalo Street. A German Garden Restaurant/Music Bar that is very nice for a meal and some good company. Only open at nights from 5PM.
