Northern Italy

Northern Italy is in Italy. It includes the Italian regions of Friuli-Venezia Giulia, the Veneto, Trentino-Alto Adige, Lombardy, Piedmont, Valle d'Aosta, and Liguria. Some also include Emilia-Romagna, although the majority of Emilia-Romagna is on the Italian peninsula, which is generally considered to be central Italy.

Italian is the First language in Italy,english is also widely known, French is also a lesser known language throughout the border and alps. German is also widely spoken in the Südtirol/Alto-Adige region.

Airports are located in cities and it is possible by car through France, Switzerland, Austria and Slovenia.

North Italy has many historical and natural sights to see including the alps.

Do

Skiing is very popular in the alps. Operas are also popular and Milan is world widely known for its fine clothing.

Eat

Italian cuisine is the norm with sandwiches and paninis widely available. Ice cream is the most popular dessert because it is homemade.

Drink

Coffee is popular. Water is essential as the heat can reach 30 degrees celsius at the best of times.

Stay safe

Stores often have stalls outside of their shops so always carry your receipt around. Bag robbing isn't a high risk but if you've drawn attention to yourself with a mobile phone, digital camera, etc it could be robbed from your bag as soon as you turn your back.

Get out

Opera is popular in Venice and Milan.
