Culture and History

This is a less travelled alternative to the southern Aegean coast with silver-green olive groves everywhere. Although heavily built up in some coastal areas, especially by summer houses, there is not much in way of a big city or industry in this region –except the occasional olive oil factory, of course. The climate is slightly cooler than the south, but it almost never snows.
