There is more than one place called New York:
- New York State - a state in the Mid-Atlantic region
- New York City - the largest city in New York State, encompassing the five boroughs of The Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens and Staten Island, officially called City of New York, nicknamed The Big Apple and also often simply called New York, N.Y. or N.Y.C.
