Mutalau is in the northern end of Niue, it is not far about 15 minutes drive from Alofi. Mutalau is very unique because of its contributin to the developments of Niue. In 1846 on 26 October its ancestors decided to accept Pastor Peniamina to introduce and teach the gospel to its people before it spread to the four corners of Niue. This is the begining of civilization in Niue. The Uluvehi landing is the landing place of christianity, this is a very nice spot for relaxation, at the moment there is a recreation and eco-tourist facility currently been contructed and will be ready by October 2008. There will be traditional accommodation available in the area, the basic services (rest rooms, bar and cooking) will be provided in the main recreation/eco-tourist building.
