Kinderdijk [1] is a small town in the South-Holland region of the Netherlands. It is best known for its many windmills. It is a UNESCO world heritage site.

Buses to Kinderdijk

  • Take the bus from Lombardijen train station, or Zuidplein in Rotterdam. From here the ride takes about 45 minutes. Get out in Kinderdijk at the station Molenkade.
  • There are also busses from Utrecht.

Tours and Getting around Kinderdijk

Kinderdijk tourist attractions and sightseeing

  • The Windmillpark is free to visit. There are a lot of Windmills.
  • One of the windmills can be visited inside for about 3.5 Euro. (open till about 17:00)
  • You can make a boat tour of the windmills for about 3 Euro. It takes about 30mins. The last boat leaves around 17:00.
  • There is also a bike rental.
