Grodno Oblast is a region in the western part of Belarus.

Regions

Cities and towns

  • Hrodna – the center of the region and one of the eldest cities in Belarus. Hrodna is a home to the 12th century church, the old castle, and numerous remarkable buildings from late 17th – early 20th century.
  • Dyatlovo – a small town with a nice catholic church from 17th century and a number of interesting secular buildings.
  • Ivye – a settlement with an old catholic church and the unusual wooden mosque.
  • Lida – an ancient town with the authentic castle from 14th century.
  • Mir – one of the most-known destinations in Belarus, the original castle from 16th century and the nice old town with 19th century buildings.
  • Novogrudok – an ancient town with the ruins of the 13th century castle and fine churches from 18th – 19th century.
  • Slonim – a town with well-preserved churches and secular buildings from 18th – early 20th century.

Other destinations

  • Gervyaty – a village with a magnificent neo-gothic church
  • Gnezno – a village that preserves the "defensive church" (a specific Belorusian type of the building) from 16th century.
  • Murovanka – another example of the "defensive church".
  • Synkovichi – the most fortified "defensive church" in the whole region.
  • Vselyub – a village with a catholic church from late 15th century.
  • Zhirovichy – a village that keeps a large monastery dating back to early 17th century.
