Gorongosa National Park, [1] is in Mozambique.

Culture and History

During the 1960 Gorongosa was a playground for the rich and famous and referred to as the place where Noah parked his Ark, due to the abundance of wildlife in the park. The Mozambique fight for independence from Portugal as well as the civil war and and large scale poaching that followed have depleted much of the wildlife, but programs are now in place to restore the park to it's former glory.
