Stay safe

Saltwater Crocodiles (Crocodylus porosus) are very common in certain portions of northern Queensland; the species general range in Queensland extends from Rockhampton to the Torres Strait, along with the rest of northern Australia. Population sizes vary depending on the area, but it is wise to avoid swimming in any rivers or lagoons outside of the main tourist areas (that includes near river mouths and nearby beaches.)

In summer months (Dec-May) don't swim in the ocean without a stinger suit. The box jelly fish is next to the Sydney funnel web spider the most toxic animal on the planet and will kill you if not careful. They especially swim in shallow water near beaches.
