Aswa-Lolim is a former Game Reserve near Gulu in Northern Uganda.

Culture and History

Today Aswa-Lolim is a series of huge ranches and farms, but the considerable wildlife is still under the protection of the Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA). Uganda Wildlife Safaris Ltd, has contracted with UWA and the land owners to manage the wildlife.

History

Landscape

Between the Albert Nile and the town of Gulu in Northern Uganda. On the west bank of the Albert Nile on high rolling hills cut by many rivers, such as the Aswa and the Lolim.

Flora and fauna

Elephant, Lion, Leopard, Uganda Kob, Lelwel Hartebeest, Common and Blue Duiker, Oribi, Black and White Colobus, Vervet Monkey, Olive Baboon, Hippos, Crocs, warthog and considerable bird life.

Climate

Tropical. Rains are April/May and Oct/Nov.
