Anatolia (Turkish: Anadolu), also called Asia Minor or Asian Turkey, is the Asian part of Turkey, a peninsula stretching from Asian mainland towards the Mediterranean Sea. Anatolia makes up 97% of the country’s territory. The European part of the country, which makes up the rest (3%) is called Eastern Thrace.
